Sunrays cut through the mountains, hitting the frozen earth, shifting as the hours pass by. In the distance, a shepherd guides a flock toward shelter as the sun slips behind a peak, silhouetting a monastery on the edge. As the light leaves the stone, the harsh nature of the climate is felt in the settling cold.

Warmth is found inside a mud house nearby, carried in the steam of saffron brewing in a copper pot, resting in the jar of dry fruits on the shelf above the steam. A reminder that here, everything is preserved rather than rich.

A heightened sense of clarity follows. One connects with this altitude. By stripping away the excess, the spirit is not emptied but filled with a truer richness.
